Led by Executive Director, Donald "Skip" Smith, with the help of Program Coordinator, Lisa Fernald, over 100 dedicated and talented volunteers deliver direct services and provide support activities to run our programs and services. Our volunteers generously share their time for the benefit of others, and without them, the SHARE Fund could not operate.
The SHARE Fund benefits from diverse funding sources. We receive government grant funding from local, state, and
federal sources. The SHARE Fund is a United Way agency and receives grant funding from several private foundations.
The agency conducts fundraising activities each year and generates program income through the thrift store component
of the Community Clothing Shop. Major financial support for the SHARE Fund comes from the generosity of our local
individuals, businesses, religious organizations, and civic groups in our community.
The SHARE Fund began over 25 years ago as an outreach ministry program of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Rochester. With the help, support, and guidance of the Parish, the SHARE Fund grew into a successful assistance service. In 2008, the SHARE Fund became an independent nonprofit agency, federally registered as a 501c3 public charity. With the strong roots provided by the church, the SHARE Fund continues to grow and has become an integral service provider for people in need living in our community.
An active and involved Board of Directors guides the direction of the SHARE Fund, provides fiscal oversight, participates in fundraising activities, and helps establish effective policies and practices.
